The ReThink is an organization with a mission is to accelerate momentum toward a new normal in economies and ecological relationships post pandemic 2020.
The ReThink is an education, communications and policy assistance non-profit organization that is making the case that we can’t just wait things out and “go back to normal.” Instead, we must seize this tumultuous, disruptive time to create new, healthier, saner norms.
COVID did not break the economy; rather, it exposed the fundamental flaws in societal and economic norms that have been eroding upward mobility, impoverishing entire communities and devastating the environment.
· Before the onset of the pandemic more than fifty percent of all Americans were living paycheck to paycheck with little or no savings. In other words, more than half of us were already living below or near the poverty line – half!
· At the same time, income inequality in the U.S. was off the charts.
· Meanwhile, this same economic system that was failing millions of Americans, relied upon chewing up natural resources and ecosystems at a relentless, rapacious pace.
The ReThink is designed to catalyze momentum not merely to restart the economy following the COVID-19 recession, but to fundamentally reset and reinvent the economic policies and practices that are the drivers of global climate change, institutionalized inequality, and environmental degradation.
The ReThink is a fiscally sponsored project of Social Good Fund, a California nonprofit corporation and registered 501(c)(3) organization, Tax ID (EIN) 46-1323531.” Contributions to The ReThink are tax deductible.
